Brendan Sullivan, owner and lead stylist of Salon Cedar, is an award winning hair stylist that has personalized hair design for his clients since 2005. He has brought to life his vision of uplifting our community through elevating the beauty of each client who enters his salon. He has created a space where our community can come to be celebrated and honored. Brendan’s talent has been seen at Native Max Magazine, Sealaska Heritage Tináa Fashion Show and Celebration Indigenous Fashion Show, and the SWAIA Fashion Show, among many others. Driven by a passion for his craft, fashion and life Alaska style, Brendan customizes hair style and the experience inspired by place and the beauty of you.

Candace Byrne

How sweet it is to welcome back a friend! We are excited to have Candace back in the salon after living in Ireland for the past 7 years. Candace has two beautiful young children, which translates into her understanding of how sacred it is to have time to relax, recharge, and disconnect from the daily stresses of life. Her training is extensive, having been an educator for Aveda, an Aveda colour master, and trained in multiple colour lines including Schwarzkopf, Alfaparf, Loreal, Wella, Logics and Paul Mitchel XL to name a few! Whether you’re looking for a confidence boosting new look, or a chance to slip into pure relaxation for a moment, Candace will use her depth of experience to exceed your expectations!

Stephanie Strickland

Stephanie is an artist by definition, full of the courage it takes to create masterpieces out of each client she sees. Throughout almost two decades of professional hair design, Stephanie has worked as a touring assistant educator with Robert Cromans, Stephanie Kocielski, Takashi Kitamura and the Lenny King “Running with Scissors” tours. She was an educator with Pravana videos, a creative director and vivid educator with Bangz salon as well as the Marily Monroe salons, south region. To top it all off, she is Bellami hair extension certified, and completed the educator program from the Paul Mitchell Systems, providing Salon Cedar a mentor to many up and coming stylists.

Emily Voithofer

You won’t miss the high energy, and positivity that Emily brings to Salon Cedar when you walk through the doors. She has passion for her art that is felt by all. Since childhood, Emily has been drawn to finding ways to make people feel special and beautiful. Graduating from Trendsetters School of Beauty in Anchorage, Alaska, and bringing her skill to Salon Cedar in 2019, she has built quite a reputation with her flawless blonding and highlighting skills. Spending time with Emily is sure to bring a smile to your face and infuse you with a zest for life!

Brook Riley

Brook has true skill and passion that she puts into each client she sees. She is most known for her precision cutting skills, as well as barbering expertise. Brook is fiercely loyal as she has been with Salon Cedar since the very beginning, even while working her full time job with the State of Alaska! Her personality exemplifies the desires of Salon Cedar, to elevate and celebrate each client, while providing the highest level of quality. Outside of her busy work life, Brook’s most honored job is raising two precious daughters. Together, they enjoy gallivanting through museums and traveling.

Robin Cassell

Robin is a long time Juneau resident, having moved here over 30 years ago. While she was born in Texas she calls Alaska, and now Salon Cedar, 'home.' Robin has been married to her soulmate for 21 years and is the mother of 4 children and two pugs. Before joining the Salon Cedar family, Robin spent over 30 years in the dental industry until starting a pursuit in real estate in 2020. Robin volunteers at and serves on the board of the Polaris house.
